Liverpool manager Jurgen Klop comments on the results of a poll for the Golden Ball, in which Merseyside central defender Virgil van Dyke was seven points behind winner Lionel Messi. The German once again spoke kindly to the Barcelona star, saying that Messi was the best football player he had ever watched, but added that he did not remember a better season as a defender than Van Dyke`s last. `I`ve watched Lionel Messi so many times and he is the best football player I`ve ever seen. But I can`t remember ever having had a more impressive quarterback season. So it would be right ifVirgil had won. I heard he was very close, `Clope said. The German also said that the club is ready to attract new players in January if it finds any that can help the team. The question was raised in the context of Joseph Guardiola`s statement that he would not make inbound transfers in the winter, although Manchester City had staffing defenses due to Aimeric Laporte`s injury.
`I`m not here to talk about the Manchester City transfer window. I hear this for the first time. Am I surprised? No, but it doesn`t matter. We are always ready - if we can do something tohelp us, we will try to do it Otherwise we will do nothing. Is the January transfer window more difficult? I do not know. I think the summer is quite difficult because it closes at different times in different parts of Europe. we see how it will be in the future, but only English clubs suffer from it. `
