Barcelona breaks Sevilla in Match 600 at Messi
5.11.2017

Barcelona increased its lead to the top of the Primera Liga after defeating Camp Nou Nou Sevilla 2-1 on a 11th round match. Two goals for the Catalonians scored Paco Alcasser (23, 65), and Argentinean Guido Pizarro (59) was honored.

The duel came in history under number 600 for Barcelona`s megastar Lionel Messi, who failed to mark the jubilee with a shot but instead got the only yellow card in the match. With the success Barcelona got 31 points and has 4 more than the second Valencia. Real Madrid was only 4 in the 11th behind the Catalunya. Sevilla was 5th with 19.

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde ordered the formation in the 4-3-3 circuit by choosing Paco Alcasser as a partner of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in an attack. Behind them was Rakitic, Buscakes and Iniesta. At the door stood Ter Sergen, and in front of him stood Semedo, Pique, Umtiti and Alba. Seville also put themselves up in the formation 4-3-3. The Peruvian David Soria stood at the door, and before him came Korshia, Kjaer, Langley and Esqueda. The attack was composed of Navas, Muriel, and Sarabia, and Pisaro, Nisoni and Banega were in the middle. Barcelona claimed superiority over its rival from the first minute, with the positions at the door of the guests alternating one after another. After a few missed opportunities, the logical happened in the 23rd minute when Seville`s defense crashed. A long diagonal pass to Alcasser on the right was not conquered by a defender of Sevilla, the ball fell into the striker who found his goal for the season in his second game as the title holder and a fourth in which Valverde voted his trust. In the second half Sevilla played boldly and created several situations in front of Ter Seren`s door. This was the 58th minute when Argentinean Guido Pizarro equalized with a nice shot after a corner kick. But the turn was not late. Just seven minutes later, Alcasser scored his second goal in the match after finding Ivan Rakitic on the right. Five minutes before, a 20-meter-long strike by defender Gerard Picke met the beam at the door of Seville. By the end of the match, Barcelona was looking for a third goal to put a point in the dispute, but failed to do so. Ten minutes before the end, Rakitic received an unpleasant injury after being knocked down in the penalty area and the Catalans medical team had to join. In the closing minutes, Messi tried to write down his name among the goal scorers, shooting a little selfishly after a breakthrough rather than looking for a teammate. The Argentine has grown clean and even committed a violation against Sevilla`s captain Esqueda, who was given the first and only one in a yellow card by Judge Gonzalez.
